Jermain Defoe has left his role as head coach at Woking, the National League club he led for just over a year. The former Manchester United striker cited personal reasons and stated it became 'impossible to continue' in his coaching position. Dave Edwards, identified as the club’s director of football, responded by saying that Defoe was never fit enough to keep up with the demands of professional footballer-manager relations and that leaving after a relatively short tenure wasn't surprising.
