Woking Football Club have opened applications for voluntary PA announcers to support home fixtures in the 2026-27 National League season. The club needs extra voices to work alongside their current announcer on an ad hoc basis, with no prior experience required.
What’s the role about?
The role is voluntary and open to anyone with a strong grasp of football and a willingness to learn. Successful applicants must be available for all Woking home games across competitions, starting with the season opener against Sutton United on Saturday, August 8 at 3pm. Additional matches may also be required depending on the club’s needs.
Applications must be emailed to [email protected] by 10am on Friday, July 31. The club stresses that no prior experience is necessary, only enthusiasm for the game and reliability for matchdays.
Why Woking needs more PA announcers now
With the 2026-27 National League season just weeks away, Woking are preparing for their 10th-place finish in the 2025 table as a platform for improvement. The Cards ended last season with 63 points from 46 games, scoring 69 and conceding 54 for a +15 goal difference. Their final run saw two wins, one draw and two losses in the last five games, with the most recent result a 0-1 home defeat to FC Halifax Town on April 25, 2026.
The club’s recent form of two wins, one draw and two losses (LLWWD) shows they’re still finding consistency after finishing 45 points behind league leaders York. With home fixtures at Kingfield Stadium set to resume in early August, extra PA support will help maintain smooth matchday operations.
What happens next for applicants?
After the July 31 deadline, Woking will review applications and contact shortlisted candidates for interviews or trial announcements. The successful volunteer will join the existing PA team, gaining experience across National League, FA Cup and potential pre-season friendlies.
Club officials have stressed that availability for all home games is non-negotiable. The role suits local football fans who want to contribute to Woking’s matchday atmosphere without the pressure of full-time commitments.
Woking currently sit 10th in the National League with 63 points from 46 games in the 2025 final table, 45 points adrift of York, and will kick off their 2026-27 campaign at home to Sutton United on August 8.
