Woking suffered a 4-2 home defeat to Solihull Moors in the National League on Tuesday, a result that halts their recent momentum. The match turned on a 56th-minute red card for defender Jaiden Putman, leaving the Cards to play over half an hour with ten men.

Solihull Moors took an early lead at Laithwaite Community Stadium. Jacob Wakeling scored after just six minutes, assisted by Scott High. Woking responded strongly, levelling the game through Matt Ward in the 22nd minute before John Marquis put them ahead three minutes later. The visitors struck back before the break, with Jamie Andrews equalising in the 27th minute and Scott High restoring Solihull's lead just before half-time.

Red card changes game

Jaiden Putman was sent off by referee Jason Richardson in the 56th minute following a foul by Joe Sbarra, who received a yellow card. Manager Michael Ross made a double substitution five minutes later, bringing on Josh Kelly and Timmy Akinola, but Woking could not find a way back. Jamie Andrews sealed the win for Solihull Moors with his second goal in the 77th minute, assisted by Matty Carson.

Woking created late chances, with Harrison Sohna hitting the post in stoppage time, but Max Metcalfe in the Solihull goal made several key saves. The defeat follows a recent run of two wins, two draws and one loss in their last five games.

Aimee Rivett said, "The visitors hold onto the 3 points as Woking look ahead to Eastleigh on Saturday." The Cards' next fixture is away to fifth-placed Scunthorpe on 24 October. The full squad details are available on our squad page.
